Direction change.

A new idea for the use of this blogging space.
I have had a few things change since last I posted. Firstly I am now employed at a place that makes and delivers round flat food-like objects that some call "Pizza" as a delivery person. I both love and hate this job which I hope to get into in more detail later.
Secondly, there were some mysterious objects found in my lower lady parts. They were removed and found to not be life threatening but... Due to other issues I will soon be having a large portion of those parts removed for future sanity.
My thought is to try to use this space for the amusement of others. Specifically those that appreciate my sense of humor in times or great annoyance and frustration.

To begin at the beginning... not the middle or the end.
I deliver pizza for one of 2 pizza places in my tiny town. I got the job through curiosity and coincidence. Curiosity at whether I could hold down a job in food service after 9 years of being an almost completely stay at home mom. Coincidence comes into play when an old friend of mine happens to be friends with the new manager of this store.
I applied for the position before the first surgery and had to postpone starting work until I had recovered. Once I started I was informed by Boss that Shorty was going to be "training" me. This training was basically to go on one delivery with her and then get sent out among the sharks. Since that time I have done fairly well in finding out what I need to know by observation and asking lots of questions. Pinkie and Ghost were instrumental in giving me information and demonstration of things I needed to be able to do. All this time passes and I become an official driver and not a probationary employee. Now I get to see all the DRAMA that comes with this type of job. I have been offered drugs, alcohol and other things not only as tips for delivering but as favors from other employees. So far I just find it amusing. I feel kind of like I went back to High-school. I love the fact that I am back in a job where service is the key. I hate the fact that I seem to have developed a dislike for the people in the food service industry.

More when I have the time

Food yummies

I have decided that I truly enjoy Greek food. I just made a variation of hummus with white kidney beans and had to stop myself from eating the whole batch. If you have a favorite Greek recipe please point me to it. I can't do alot of crunchy but the flavors are phenomenal. I have loved dolmas for a long time but I am interested in learning more about the entire range of Mediterranean food types now. My hunny took me to a fabulous restaurant over this past weekend and I am still enjoying the flavors in my head.
Hope all of you are taking care of yourselves.
Happys to y'all

I love these images.

The old sewing machines are something I adore. I love the way that they are *still* functioning today and if they were taken care of they perform beautifully. I have one that I am hoping to get restored so I can use it as the workhorse it was built to be. Unfortunately I will have to plan a trip of over an hour to find a place that might be able to work on it.

Thoughts to you all.

See the new year start.

Trying to keep up with all the things that race off the blocks as soon as the year turns. New projects to mess with. New effort to make more happy in my life. New focus on doing things that I enjoy rather than things I "should". Now I will add one more new thing to the year. I will try to make no less than one post here per week. I will not guarantee there will be pictures or crafty goodness in every post. I will however make sure to give this a spot on my priority list. I know that there are people out there that actually read this and are sometimes truly amused by my ramblings. Since I can't please everyone all the time I will try for a few people some of the time. (= How's that for a positive attitude.
Hope all your projects are coming along snag free.

So, when I said daily...

At least it hasn't been months since my last post. I have a couple of baby hats to take pictures of today and I will try (yeah sure) to put them up soonish. I think they came out well and they are paid for. This will help keep me in yarn, coffee and tobacco for a while. My vices, horrible aren't I. Hoping the world is still turning where y'all are.

Have an opinion, I've got plenty.

So, I do not often post anything to do with my "world view" and try very hard to not let politics or religion intrude on this, my creative space. I feel that this is important enough a message that I will ask any of you still reading to give it a chance. I won't be offended if you stop reading me afterward, but please try to refrain from nasty comments with no actual basis in reality. Thanks all.

It's Monday.

I have so many things I should be doing right now but I am sitting here writing a post because I am missing something. For quite a while now I have had a friend that has come to my house and sit with me, drinking coffee and picking my brain for more crochet knowledge. Sometimes she would eat my odd kitchen creations and tell me how wonderful they were. Sometimes she would want to show me the new "thing" she was making with skills I had shared and she had improved on. She had to move this past weekend and this is the first Monday in a long time that I haven't had her knocking on my door at half past 8 in the morning asking if there was coffee or if I wanted to have a smoke on the porch with her. My heart hurts and I am lonely again.
May the pain be lessened by the sharing.
Hope y'all are having a better day than I am.

Boogabooga

For a blog this has been pretty boring lately. I'm going to try to start posting more. A good thing has happened recently... I got licensed to substitute teach. Yay me. Other things like sewing, knitting and crocheting have been going on as well. I even taught a friend of mine how to crochet and showed her how to read charted crochet patterns. Now she is faster and more accurate with a hook than I am. =P
Have a day y'all.

Been a while.

Still here. Still making stuff.
The brown shawl went to the fair and won a blue ribbon. I was amused.
I have no pictures of my latest triumph because I forgot to take one before it went home. I took 3 kitchen towels and a pant leg and turned them into an apron with pockets. It was fun and fairly simple. The towels had an image printed on them copied top to top so if you were to hang them on a bar the pictures would both be right side up. In order to make it right I had to cut them in half and stitch them back together.
Outside of this I have been doing some re-organization and culling of the "stuff". Also working on some slip-stitch things as well as attempting to work on my Hemlock blanket. Hoping it will be finished before snow but that gives me a few more months... (=
So, how's the rest of the world going. I have been reading some and know that things go up and yet they still insist on coming down. Hoping that gravity is treating people well today
